Notice on the Use of New Coding Rules of Organic Product Certification Mark

To whom it may concern:

According to the Announcement of the CNCA on releasing the new version of the "Coding Rules for Organic Product Certification Certificates" and "Coding Rules for Organic Product Certification Marks" (No.8 2022), the code of organic product certification mark (organic codes) will be adjusted from the 17 digits to 18 digits, which is composed of CB ID (4 digits) + Printing Year (2 digits) + Random Code (12 digits).

According to the requirements of the announcement, the transition period of the old and new organic codes will end on December 31, 2023.

From August 1, 2023, WIT will upload organic codes to the China Food and Agricultural Products Certification Information System in accordance with the new "Coding Rules for Organic Product Certification Marks ".

The transition method of the old and new WIT stickers with organic codes and electronic organic codes are as follows:

1、All released old WIT stickers and organic codes (17 digits) continue to be valid and can be used.
2、For WIT stickers with organic codes: The transition period is from August 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. During the transition period, the new WIT stickers (with 18 digits code) will be released, old WIT stickers (with 17 digits code) will no longer be released from January 1, 2024
3、For electronic organic codes: From August 1, 2023, the new organic codes (18 digits) will be released, old organic codes (17 digits) will no longer be released.

After receiving the notice, please check current organic product packaging, labels, publicity materials and codes printing equipment of plants (when applicable), and properly arrange the transition of the old and new WIT stickers with organic codes and electronic organic codes.
